-  I  aim  to  use  for  breeding  only  healthy  animals, both physically  and  mentally,  so I have  my  breeding animals at least HD-tested  and  maybe charactertested  too. The  dog's  character  is  equally  important  to  the owner  as  the  heath. I  will  use  only  HD-tested  dogs,  healthy hips are  preferred  but  a  dog  with  Grade 1  hips  can  be  used  with  a  partner  with  A  hips  if  that  dog  has  other  qualities  that  I  want  from  a  dog.

-  I  want  to  preserve  the  Vallhund's  herding  instincts so  I  will  try  to  find  dogs  to  my  breeding  program  that  has  those  qualities. Also  I  prefer  using  dogs  that  have  other  results  than just  showresults. Vallhund  is  an  old  herding  breed  and  has  some  guard  dog's  qualities. I  want  to  breed  dogs  that  can  be  used  for  varied  activities, such  as  obedience,  agility  and  tracking.  

-  I  want  to  breed  dogs  with  a  good  character,  that  are  as  suitable  for  family  pets  as  well  as  active  companions  in  different  hobbies.  Health  issues  are  important.  Appearance  should  be  that  of  a  typical  Vallhund,   but  looks  do  not  come  first.  I  do  not  try  to  breed  superior  showdogs.  I  give  some  value  to  showresults  but   for  me  the  result  of  a  breed examination  is  more  important.  In  breed examination  the  dog's  appearance  is  scrutinized  more  throughly  than  in  any  show.

-  since  Valls  are  working  dogs  they  should  have  good  movements  and  have  enough  character  to  herd  cattle  and  have  a  sturdy  appearance. They  should  look  like  they  would  be  able  to  work  all day  alongside  with  their  owners.

-   I do not want to use dogs under 2 years of age for breeding. I also want to limit the number of pups from 12 to no more than 16 for a bitch and to 20 for a male. I will give my own stud dog for breeding for carefully selected bitches only.
