- I want to preserve the Vallhund's herding instincts so I will try to find dogs to my breeding program that has those qualities. Also I prefer using dogs that have other results than just showresults. Vallhund is an old herding breed and has some guard dog's qualities. I want to breed dogs that can be used for varied activities, such as obedience, agility and tracking.
- I want to breed dogs with a good character, that are as suitable for family pets as well as active companions in different hobbies. Health issues are important. Appearance should be that of a typical Vallhund, but looks do not come first. I do not try to breed superior showdogs. I give some value to showresults but for me the result of a breed examination is more important. In breed examination the dog's appearance is scrutinized more throughly than in any show.
since Valls are working dogs they
should have good movements and have
enough character to herd cattle and
have a sturdy appearance. They should look
like they would be able to work
all day alongside with their owners.
